Goa should be recognized as the Yoga Land of India : Brahmeshanand Swamiji

Kundaim: Yog is the science gifted by the revered Indian Rishis and Munis. The entire universe is connected with Yoga. The aspiration of our sages has always been that everyone should attain a healthy and disease-free life. The Gurupeeths and universities of India have continuously worked to spread the knowledge of Yog among people. Following this ancient tradition, the visionary and ascetic Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi Ji, presented the Indian science of Yog on the platform of the United Nations, where more than 177 countries supported and accepted this ancient wisdom. Today, the 12th International Yog Day is being celebrated across the world, which is a matter of pride for Bharat and the timeless knowledge of our Rishis and Munis, said Adhyatma Shiromani, Padma Shri awardee Sadguru Brahmeshanand Acharya Swamiji.

The grand celebration of the 12th International Yog Day was organized at Shree Kshetra Tapobhoomi Gurupeeth, Kundaim, in the divine presence of Padma Shri Sadguru Brahmeshanand Acharya Swamiji, on the occasion of the Gurupeetharohan Silver Jubilee Year celebrations. The event was jointly organized by Shree Datta Padmanabh Peeth and Sadguru Yoga Gurukul, with the collaboration of International Sadguru Gurukulam, Sadguru Dnyanpeeth, Swami Brahmanand Vedic Gurukul & Research Institute, and Swami Brahmanand Mahavidyalaya. Swamiji was addressing the gathering on this occasion.

Further speaking, Pujya Swamiji said that Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa Dr. Pramod Sawant is making significant efforts to establish this ancient Indian science of Yoga in Goa. Spirituality is not limited to any one religion; it exists in all traditions. The Goa Chief Minister is working towards promoting the spiritual heritage of Goa. The Goa Government has issued directives to celebrate Yog Day in all government offices, schools, colleges, and across all sections of society, due to which Yog Day was celebrated at numerous locations today.

Pujya Swamiji further suggested that Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant should initiate a discussion on Yoga in the Goa Legislative Assembly and declare Goa as a “Yog State” so that Goa, the land of Yogis, the land of Lord Parashuram, Tapobhoomi, and the sacred land of Gau Mata, gains recognition as the Yoga Land of India. He expressed that in the coming decades and centuries, Goa should regain its glorious heritage, where Yoga practices begin across beaches, temples, monasteries, offices, schools, and colleges. To enhance the identity and character of Goa, it should be declared as a “Yog State,” he said.

Through Tapobhoomi, Yog Day was celebrated at various locations across Goa, including Goa Lok Bhavan, Police Stations, Ponda Municipal Council, Konkan Railway – Madgaon, various temples, railway stations, airports, auditoriums, schools, colleges, police stations, government offices, and many other places.
Various organizations actively participated in this grand initiative, including Satguru Foundation, Sadguru Youth Federation, Jagat Janani, Swami Sadanand Ayurveda Dham, International Sadguru Foundation, Swami Brahmanand Mahavidyalaya, International Sadguru Gurukulam, Sadguru Dnyanpeeth, and others.
