“Surrendering to the Sadguru is the Prime Duty of Every Human Being”
On the great and auspicious occasion of Shri Guru Purnima, the entire disciple community gathers at the holy feet of the Sadguru to offer their faith, devotion, and reverence.
“The syllable ‘Gu’ represents darkness, and ‘Ru’ represents light. Thus, a Guru is the one who leads us from darkness to light. Worldly affairs pull humans towards darkness. It is only through the grace of the Sadguru that a soul, trapped in the chaos of this material world, is uplifted and becomes worthy of the supreme, ultimate divine knowledge. Surrendering to the Sadguru is considered the primary duty of every human being. The Sadguru teaches the worship of the soul (Atma-Upasana). To remain engrossed in this spiritual pursuit is the ultimate goal of the path of liberation.” This profound message was delivered through a divine discourse by the Peethadhishwar of Shree Datta Padmanabh Peeth, Adhyatma Shiromani, Padmashri Vibhushit Sadguru Brahmeshanand Acharya Swamiji.
Organized by Shree Datta Padmanabh Peeth, the special ‘Gurupeetharohan Silver Jubilee Year’ Shri Guru Purnima festival was celebrated with immense devotion and enthusiasm in the holy presence of Pujya Swamiji at Shree Kshetra Tapobhoomi Gurupeeth. Thousands of disciples from Goa, Maharashtra, Karnataka, as well as from across the country and abroad, were present for this grand event.
Elaborating further, Pujya Swamiji said, “Sanatan Dharma holds an ancient tradition of surrendering children to a Guru at a very young age. When a child is at a tender age and just begins to understand things, their intellect should be surrendered to the Guru. As a person grows older and becomes absorbed in the external material world, their intellect often deviates from the right path and wanders in the wrong direction. Therefore, to cultivate a pure and righteous intellect (Satvik Buddhi), one must seek the refuge of a Guru early in life. There are many religions and cultures in the world, but the supreme culture above all is the Sanatan Vedic Culture.”
Earlier in the morning, a Mahapooja was performed at the Samadhi Mandir of Rashtrasant Sadguru Brahmanandacharya Swamiji and at the Shree Datta Mandir. During the main event, the Mahapooja of Sadguru Brahmeshanand Acharya Swamiji was gracefully conducted under the hostship (Yajaman) of Shri Vishal and Smt. Priyanka Mhalkar, accompanied by the chanting of Vedic mantras.
Following this, the disciples offered their devotion and reverence to the Sadguru through prayers, Manas Pooja (mental worship), and the divine Sadguru Deep Aradhana.
